This place was a staple in my childhood as my mom worked there back when they where 24hrs. She spent a lot of time helping them & their establishment she was close friends with owners. I love diners & I spend a lot of money on them all over Cleveland. Gabrels canarys bjs steves. From this one to red chimney. That sadly burned down. My aunts worked there. My family grew up & serviced in the waitress in this neighborhood all my life. Red chimney was the only place I knew that served cinnamon raisen French toast. I have been very disappointed in their service the last few years. I have lived in Slavic Village for over a decade. I was grateful that they let me charge my phone during the power outage. Even though I have had several issues with their service recently from them telling me I have old menues to not getting my price when making a take out order. To my portions getting smaller. To now, this morning arguing about how I like my steak cooked. I have eaten my steak the same way. I ored a mediem well & it was fully cooked & very dry boneless. I am 33 years old & have been to steak houses. So when the main waitress tells me she is not trying to argue with me. When she infact was. When I ordered the tbone bf before i headed to work. They are only open until 2pm. They offered to make a new one & when I called & let them know I didn’t have time there was a problem. I also saw a help wanted sign over summer & was told I could apply, so I did & never received a call back after several weeks. Its disappointing how they treat a loyal & customer from childhood to adult hood. I used to sell my school candy here. The peanut butter cookies are also disappointing. The main waitress has an attitude problem & is favored. I’m glad I was not hired. I saw how she spoke to me & the other workers. I was almost late for work. At this point, they might lose a valuable customer. If I have to check my food before I leave an establishment for a take out order, I highly recommend better service. This is wild & to then have to argue & not be compensated. That is not how I expected to start my morning or head into work. Smh, Idk how Slavic village establishments are still running. They treat their customers like garbage over here. They even have signs telling you.
I was not irritated at all. I just refused to be told what I ordered or snobby service.
Ok, so I ordered a rebye my mistake. Every time I come in, I make sure to get a new menu because of changes. I even had to take a picture on the phone because of so many mishaps on prices. I don’t know how much experience the new waitress has when she is not even able to give me my total before I get off the phone or ring me out.
I simply called to notify what I received & and yes, I realized I did not have time to come back up there. Mediem well has pink in it & should absolutely not be dry. There should of been some juices if your statement is correct. As far as my siblings go, that has nothing to do with my service & my review. As far as I know, she has a crush on my brother & jealous of me & insecure & attention seeking & needs all the tips. If I did not qualify, I should’ve been told. I notify I had no experience when I applied. I was still told I would receive a call. & did not. Yes, after over a decade & my mom’s decline with health, you offered her a job which has nothing to do with me & my experience. It is usually with take out orders. I have no problem with being satisfied with great service or letting people know when service needs work & I do so professionally. I posted pictures & just of steak I should of posted the whole thing were I had very little potatoes & from previous orders of portions. I will let people decide for their selfs & their experiences. This is my review only. Everyone has their own. I have been hung up on by your favorite employee & your establishment several times. Please do better. Have a great day.

Very nostalgic diner. Food is delicious and fast. Ordering grits with every breakfast meal is a must because it is to die for. The scrambled eggs and cheese made me feel like I cooked it at home on a weekend off. The bacon was crisp to perfection and the French toast was so airy and fluffy. Please check them out!🙂❤️🥰

Awesome neighborhood spot with local regulars, hand-made signs, daily specials and great service. The cheese steak was melt-in-my-mouth cheesy delicious, best I ever had. His club sandwich was generous and fresh. The ladies behind the counter were warm, friendly and funny. We were traveling through but have promised to make this a tradition if/when we are back in downtown Cleveland.
